SOLID STATE LOGIC ANNOUNCES INTEGRATION PARTNERSHIP WITH ROSS VIDEO FOR THE NEW C10 DIGITAL BROADCAST CONSOLE

C10 will Fully Integrate with the Ross OverDrive Production Control System

LAS VEGAS, NV—At NAB (Booth N4031), world-leading media technology innovator Solid State Logic (SSL) will announce a partnership with Ross Video to fully integrate the Ross OverDrive Production Control System, used to control video and audio components in a broadcast environment, with the C10 Digital Broadcast Audio Console. This strategic integration delivers essential control of the C10 fader, channel on/off and pan operations to the OverDrive system, increasing production workflow through pre-programmed automation functions, resulting in reduced engineering time on task.

“The advent of a critical link with the Ross OverDrive Production Control System further enhances the appeal of the C10 for broadcast situations,” says Steve Zaretsky, Vice President of Broadcast, SSL, Inc. “In today’s marketplace, where cost efficiencies are of paramount importance, offering facilities a console that works well within an established production environment is a design imperative. The partnership with Ross Video allows the C10 to deliver compatibility with existing systems and workflow protocols, while providing all the robustness of an SSL console that features world renowned signal processing and an intuitive user interface.”

The Ross OverDrive Production Control System is a highly flexible production control system that enables touch screen control over the devices used in a production environment. OverDrive integrates with the Synergy SD, MD/X and Vision series production switchers to achieve control over video servers, VTRs, DDRs, audio mixers, robotic cameras, routers, still stores and more.

The integration with the C10 will allow external control of all faders, on/off switches, pans and PFL on up to 170 simultaneous channels by OverDrive. Control protocols can be activated or disabled by the operator at any time allowing for on the fly corrections to a live program.

This integration allows the broadcast facility to arrive at a production audio mix in rehearsal and program in all the parts of a particular show by combining MOS elements and live components. The benefit to the station is through smooth transitions between live and recorded audio, while providing the engineer with the ability to change a mix element without interrupting the production flow. Many applications would require only one engineer, thereby maximizing engineering staff efficiency.
