Iroquois, ON Canada – August 11, 2008 – Vision Audiovisuel Multimedia celebrated Quebec’s 400th Anniversary to broadcast a series of festivities live using a Ross Vision 2 QMD Multi-Definition Production Switcher.
Purchased through their distributor, Sono Video, Vision Audiovisuel’s main objectives in finding a switcher were to be SD and HD capable, have many interface abilities to minimize conversion, process computer presentations and the ability for multiple screen feeds.
“Ross’ Vision switcher allowed us to successfully cover a variety of festivities that Quebec is hosting,” said Daniel Simard, Technical Director. “We used Vision for the Chorales productions featuring popular Quebec singers Paul Piché and Jean-Pierre Ferland to name a few. And on July 20, we had the opportunity to work with the team of Sir Paul McCartney to cover his historic two and a half hour concert during which Ross’ Vision production switcher was the central piece of equipment.”

Vision QMD/X provides 4 keys per ME and up to 4 MEs, available in both a small and large chassis. The small chassis, QMD, is a compact 3RU, offering four full 4-keyer MEs and 48 Multi-Definition inputs. The large chassis, QMD-X, offers four full 4-keyer MEs, 6 keys downstream, and 96 multi-definition inputs.
