New York City Council Looks at DTV Monday

The New York City Council’s Technology in Government Committee is holding a hearing Monday (Nov. 24) to take a closer look at the DTV transition in America’s largest city.

“As the changes for broadcast television draws closer, many in New York City are unaware of the transition and the steps necessary to guarantee continual television service,” the committee said in a statement. “With this hearing, the Council hopes to better understand the current outreach efforts to consumers, electronic stores, and businesses.”

The tech panel, chaired by Council Member Gale A. Brewer, D-Manhattan, will evaluate the city’s preparation for the big day Feb. 17.

The hearing is Monday at 10:00 a.m. on the 16th Floor Hearing Room of 250 Broadway in Lower Manhattan. The public is welcome to attend.
