Beck Associates Connects Local Broadcasters with RTS & Telex RadioCom Intercom Systems

Beck Associates has a long-standing tradition of providing top-notch integration services to broadcasters all over the US. Central to their designs are communication systems by RTS and Telex RadioCom.

Austin, TX This year Beck Associates connected several local broadcasters with RTS and Telex RadioCom Intercom systems. Beck takes great pride in providing end-to-end solutions for their clients including integration, design, mobile production, and even custom millwork. Beck supplies only the best communications equipment for their clients, which is why Beck supplies RTS.

Established in 1982, Beck Associates is headquartered in a 20,000 ft² Texas facility designed specifically for systems integration. Today they have remote offices in Colorado and New Jersey, and serve clients all over the United States.

The versatile ADAM by RTS is the intercom matrix frame of choice among broadcasters. Available in sizes from 8 to 1,000+ users, the ADAM is robust enough for major broadcast events such as the Olympics and the US Elections, yet scalable enough to accommodate local broadcasters.

One broadcaster contracted Beck Associates to integrate an ADAM system featuring the new AIO-16 16-Port Analog I/O Card Kit, TIF-4000 Telephone Interface, breakout panels, and KP-32 Classic keypanels. The system is configured for 144 matrix ports, which leaves plenty of room for expansion without having to invest in a new frame.

For crew members on set, Beck Associates specified BP-325 Two-Wire beltpacks by RTS and a BTR-800 wireless system by Telex RadioCom.

In Tucson, Beck Associates integrated a similar system with a pair of smaller Cronus DSP Matrices featuring 8-port AIO cards, KP-32 Classic keypanels, BP-325 beltpacks by RTS, and a BTR-800 wireless system by Telex RadioCom.

RTS Cronus intercom is a modular, 32-port digital matrix intercom in 2RU that can hold up to four AIO analog or RVON-C VoIP cards with eight ports each. Based upon an advanced DSP architecture, Cronus intercom has the ability to link up to four units into a single 128-port matrix. The Cronus can be preconfigured for fiber with a connection up to 9.3mi (15km), or coax for a connection up to 300’ (91.4m). When connected as a single matrix, the individual Cronus intercom controls remain autonomous and independent at each matrix for the highest reliability. The Cronus is available with an analog card, or the RVON-C VoIP card.

In addition, the Tucson broadcaster is also using a Telex RadioCom TT-16 wireless IFB system interfaced to the matrix with a RTS IFB-828 8-Channel IFB Panel with Volume Controls.

With all this flexibility, it’s no wonder that Beck Associates, a nationally-recognized broadcast integrator, chooses RTS and Telex RadioCom for its clients.
