Iroquois, ON, Canada – January 5, 2009 – Finnish Commercial Television Station MTV3 (Mainos-TV) chose Ross for their News Production Studio with the purchase of a Vision 3 QMD-X Multi-Definition Switcher.
Based in Helsinki, Finland MTV3 made the move to HD replacing their old production switcher with a Ross Vision. The logical design and new features made the transition easy for MTV3’s operators and they were able to go on air September 6, 2008. MTV3 will install a Ross OverDrive Automated Production System in early 2009.
“Everyone in the broadcast industry is familiar with Ross products,” said Markku Ryöti, Head of TV-Technical Planning, Technical Operations. “This along with the modular design and feature set of the Vision switchers made our decision to go with Ross an easy one.”

Vision QMD/X provides 4 keys per ME and up to 4 MEs, available in both a small and large chassis. The small chassis, QMD, is a compact 3RU, offering four full 4-keyer MEs, 6 keys downstream and 48 Multi-Definition inputs. The large chassis, QMD-X, offers four full 4-keyer MEs, 6 keys downstream, and 96 multi-definition inputs.
