CLEAR-COM CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF INNOVATION

ALAMEDA, CALIFORNIA/CAMBRIDGE, UK — Clear-Com® Communication Systems (IBC, Stand 9.C40a; PLASA, Stand L38) is celebrating 40 years as a leader of communication solutions. The company, which is part of The Vitec Group, began its legacy in 1968 with the first-ever party-line beltpack for live venues and has remained a steadfast developer and provider of professional voice communications systems. Since starting out with revolutionary systems for the live performance market four decades ago, Clear-Com has greatly expanded its product offerings and worldwide reach into broadcasting, government, medical and house of worship segments around the globe, in addition to live performance. Today, the company continues to evolve, advancing new solutions for software-based and wireless intercom technologies.

As Clear-Com began to pick up momentum as a leading communications system provider, it stepped ahead of its competition when it merged with UK-based Drake Electronics Ltd., the designers of the de facto standard intercom solution for European broadcasters, in 2003. Together, these companies have a combined 60 years of experience and knowledge, keeping Clear-Com at the forefront of the mission-critical communications market.

Boasting a wide range of products to promote easy interoperability and global connectivity, Clear-Com has remained true to its heritage while expanding the capabilities of its solutions to offer ubiquitous communication across global broadcast networks.

During its 40 year span, Clear-Com established many milestones within the communications industry, including its introduction of the first beltpack and analogue party-line systems in 1968, the first 4-Wire Intercom in 1976 and the industry’s first intelligent User Display Panel in 1986. In addition, Drake was also the first intercom company to introduce the Digital Matrix Intercom in 1992. Clear-Com has since expanded its product portfolio into four distinct product lines that have become a standard in today’s markets: Encore Party-line, Eclipse Digital Matrix, CellCom®/FreeSpeak® Digital Wireless and, most recently, the Concert™ IP Communications system.

“Clear-Com’s 40-year commitment to raising the bar for today’s intercom users has kept the company at the forefront of the industry,” says Clear-Com Managing Director Matt Danilowicz. “We appreciate our loyal customers and partners, who have supported us through the years and pushed us to continue innovating. The team managing Clear-Com today has a keen sense of responsibility to this fine brand, and we intend to expand its reach in the years ahead.”

“Clear-Com has been fortunate to have retained an incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated sales and technical team throughout its 40 years. The current team is committed to upholding our mission in delivering the most sophisticated, elegant, and reliable intercom solutions to our customers.”

Clear-Com plans to demonstrate its latest product advancements in IP-based communications solutions at the IBC and PLASA shows in September.
