Scientific-Atlanta named Dean Rockwell as the new vice president and general manager of its Media Networks business. Focusing on using Media Networks' resources to the cable industry, Rockwell will be responsible for managing a multifaceted Media Networks team in Atlanta and Toronto and product management and research and development at the company's office in Copenhagen, Denmark. Rockwell replaces Sam Lim, who moved to the Subscriber Networks sector as vice president and general manager.
Rockwell previously served four years as vice president and general manager of Scientific-Atlanta's Headend Systems Division in Atlanta. Before that he worked for Nexus Engineering Corp. in Vancouver. He graduated from the Electrical Engineering program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1987 and studied business management at Simon Fraser University.
