KOVR Taps Jadoo for Fuel Cell Power Supply

March 11, 2004
Jadoo Power Systems, a manufacturer of portable fuel cell devices that can be used on professional camcorders, has shipped its NABII cells to KOVR-TV in Sacramento, Calif. NABII attaches to a camcorder in the same manner as a standard battery and it derives energy from the combination of hydrogen and oxygen; the fuel cell is recharged by replenishing its hydrogen supply.

Among NABII's features include lower weight and longer run times than traditional camera batteries. Jadoo claims that a NABII can power a broadcast-quality camcorder for more than three times longer than the nickel-cadmium, nickel metal-hydride and lithium-ion batteries now used for portable power. NABII will be formally launched at NAB2004.
