TVB Tech Alert II: Human Eye Cam

CYBERSPACE: The notion of a camera that mimics the function of the human eye with its peripheral capabilities has been around for a while. Now, designer George Milde has proffered a Human Eye Camera that not only sees like the optical organ, but looks a bit like an eyeball on the end of a nouveau flashlight. Light entering the eye of Milde’s device hits a prism that scatters it to three movable sensors that generate RAW output then said to be “stitched” together into a distorted image that lacks the brain’s ability to flatten the edges. The result is a sort of surreal, inverted fish-eye effect.

Four Fifths Design has diagrams of the Human Eye Camera.
