April 14, 2003
HDNet has selected PanAmSat to provide the satellite delivery of its HD programming to cable and DBS providers throughout North America, making the content available to nearly 10,000 cable headends across the U.S. Initially, HDNet will utilize the Galaxy IX satellite at 127 degrees West longitude before migrating to Galaxy XIII, due to be launched in the second half of 2003.

“We are delighted to have formed this association with PanAmSat, as it shares in our vision of the future of this technology,” said Mark Cuban, co-founder and president of HDNet. “This initiative will ultimately provide more choice to consumers by making a greater variety of content accessible for delivery to the home.”
