Manfrotto to Launch Carbon Fiber Tripod Family, New Fluid Head

Gruppo Manfrotto, distributed by Bogen Imaging (part of the Vitec Group), will introduce the MPRO family of carbon fiber tripods, starting with two models, the 535 and 536, specifically designed for ENG applications at NAB.

The MPRO 535 and 536 tripods feature 100 percent carbon fiber tubes along with die-cast magnesium for the single tube design with leg angle selectors, quick-action leg locks, and retractable spiked feet for indoor and outdoor use.

The tripods offer maximum load capacities of 44.1 pounds for the 535 tripod and 55.1 pounds for the 536. The 535 tripod has a maximum height of 65 inches. The 536 tripod has a maximum height of 79.1 inches.

For mounting camcorders up to 8.8 pounds atop any Manfrotto tripod, the company is adding the new 701HDV fluid heads to its HDV-Series, which includes the 501HDV and 503HDV.

The 701HDV head promises improved ergonomics with redesigned locks and knobs for a more solid grip and better control. The 701HDV head features improved internal fluid cartridges, a double pan-bar rosette and a larger sliding plate than other models to adjust the camera position for its center of gravity.

Manfrotto will be in Booth C6225.
