Brick House Video to Launch Field Portable Standards Converter

Brick House Video, a Hampshire, U.K.-based provider of compact switchers, logging devices and VTR controllers, will introduce the Proteus field portable standards converter at NAB2005.

Proteus marks the company's entry into the standards conversion market. The unit features a 10-bit SDI, analog composite and audio I/O, an advanced standards conversion algorithm for PAL to NTSC and NTSC to PAL, comprehensive audio synchronization facilities and a full set of signal processing controls.

Proteus is housed in a highly compact and rugged field portable/desktop box to suit a wide variety of situations where standards conversion is required.

Brick House will also showcase its new VTB-2DS portable switcher, a standalone battery-powered six-input version of its SDI rack-mounted switcher. Returning to the show this year is the Brick House Neptune dual channel synchronizer, which comprises two fully independent SDI framestore synchronizers in a 1 RU chassis.

Brick House Video will be in Booth SU9807.
