JWT, Spot Runner form strategic alliance
Ad agency JWT and Internet-based ad agency Spot Runner have entered into a strategic alliance to collaborate on national clients that want a scaleable, local TV advertising solution and the ability to advertise within emerging video platforms, such as online video, video-on-demand and IPTV.
JWT has already begun offering Spot Runner's advertising platform to its list clients so they can select commercials, customize them and plan cost-effective and targeted TV advertising campaigns in local media markets.

Motorola to acquire Broadbus Technologies
Motorola will acquire privately held Broadbus Technologies, a Boxborough, MA, -based provider of technology solutions for Television On-Demand (TOD).
Broadbus Technologies' carrier-class technology solutions enable the distribution of on-demand content to consumers through multiple devices. The company's solid-state server architecture is based on the intelligent configuration and management of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM).
With the acquisition, Motorola will extend its video delivery platform with new content management and distribution capabilities that address opportunities such as mobile video, video on-demand (VOD), time-shifted TV, network-based digital video recording (nDVR), on-demand ad insertion (ODAI) and switched digital video (SDV).
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition, which is subject to regulatory and other customary approvals, is expected to close in the third quarter.

Sigma Designs media processor powering European IPTV deployment
Several telco operators in Europe have begun using the Sigma Designs SMP8630 series media processors for IPTV deployments.
- T-Online, a division of Deutsche Telekom, is offering triple-play service via a platform using hardware technology from Sigma Designs and software technology from Microsoft.
- Neuf Cegetel is offering a high-definition video service delivered over ADSL and TNT based on the new Neuf TV HD set-top box. The box uses Sigma's SMP8635 media processor.
- AOL France is launching new digital television service via ADSL, using the Netbox HD from Netgem, based on Sigma's SMP8635 media processor.
- The Netbox HDTV from Netgem, powered by the Sigma SMP8635 media processor, is now being sold through a major retail chain in France,

Ahora to rely on I-Media Network, Endavo for Latin entertainment launch
Endavo Media and Communications and Latin-focused digital media company Ahora will launch multiple on-demand Latin entertainment services leveraging the multi-platform managed content delivery capabilities of I-Media Network's WV Fiber Network and Endavo's content delivery platforms.
Ahora plans to launch online, broadband TV, IPTV and streaming video services supported by a combination of user subscriptions, pay per download and advertising using Endavo's integrated content delivery solutions and media management system.

Eagle Broadband, Terremark sign co-location agreement
Eagle Broadband has signed a multi-year co-location agreement to deliver IPTV content throughout the United States from integrated Tier-1 Internet exchanges operator Terremark Worldwide’s NAP of the Americas facility.
The NAP of the Americas will serve as the central distribution hub for Eagle's IPTV solution. Eagle's IPTV services include direct access to more than 200 channels of high-demand programming from entertainment providers, using a mix of standard-definition and high definition set-top boxes.
Arkwest deploys Entone IPTV solution
Arkwest Communications has chosen Entone Technologies’ IPTV VoD solution for a triple-play rollout in Arkansas.
Arkwest's IPTV service will offer more than 200 TV channels and 1500 hours of movies on demand. It will be available to Arkwest's 6000 residential customers.
The company will use Entone’s StreamLiner network video recorder and Ingest Gateway, an integrated software solution for managing the ingest process of pre-encrypted digital assets and associated metadata.
