Technicolor Network Services buys one more

The London facility of Technicolor Network Services has invested in its fourth PT0660M audiometer from Danish metering specialist DK-Technologies. The facility now has two units in its Dolby-enabled transmission suites, another in an edit suite where it is used for Dolby 5.1 editing and a fourth as a spare. Technicolor project engineer Mark Ahearn feels the DK unit’s JellyFish display is critical to accurate spatial audio monitoring in Dolby 5.1 mixes.

Launched two years ago, DK’s PT0660M was originally developed to meet industry demand for an audiometer that could act as a master volume control for speakers in both surround and stereo configurations. The eight-track unit combines DK-Technologies’ proprietary JellyFish surround display with a volume knob on the front panel. An internal switching matrix is also included, allowing customers to change presets to their own specifications. The unit also boasts 10 presets, directly accessible from the front panel, for quick flexibility.
