S&T upgrades RedKey
By TVTechnology published
S&T's significantly upgraded MHEG-5 set-top box engine, RedKey, will be launched at NAB2008. It has been developed to address the needs of the many new interactive TV markets emerging around the world as well as those of existing MHEG-5 clients. New features include: IP-based return channel, HD graphics and PVR control for push VOD.
RedKey 2 takes a modular approach to the design of an MHEG engine and allows set-top box/iDTV manufacturers to include only those features necessary for specific markets. With RedKey 2, clients can reuse large sections of product development to address all MHEG market opportunities worldwide, optimizing the use of product development budgets and resources.
