Sony and Toshiba are reportedly working on an agreement to jointly develop a unified standard for next-gen DVDs.
The Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported in its online edition that Sony and Toshiba stepped up closed-door negotiations in February to find a resolution to the standoff between their competing products.
The two companies are said to be discussing which of the two formats’ architectures would be dominant in any combined format.
