Sonic Solutions has founded the High Definition Authoring Alliance (HDAA), a worldwide association of DVD authoring houses dedicated to facilitating the rollout of titles for release in the new HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc optical disc formats.
Sonic said the HDAA will increase momentum for successful introduction of the formats and ensure the timely availability of quality of titles by providing members with access to key information, HD-enabled tools and training.
HDAA activities, including training and seminars, are focused in three geographical centers: Burbank, CA, London and Tokyo. The group currently has more than 25 members, including 1K Studios, Ascent Media and Technicolor Creative Services in Burbank, CA; Click Active Media in Santa Monica, CA; DGP in London; and Digital Media Production in Prague, Czech Republic.
