Saddam execution documented in HD, says Newsweek

The execution last week of deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein was documented officially for the new Iraqi government in HD.

According to an online report from Newsweek by Michael Hastings, the official videographer for the event, Ali Al Massedy, shot the hanging with a Sony HD video camera.

The magazine’s request to see the videotape, which lasts about 15 minutes, was denied. The official video is not the video of the event shot with a cell phone that has sparked controversy and an investigation by the new Iraqi government.
