PBS engineers to meet before NAB

The PBS Technology Conference is the premier annual gathering for engineering and information technology professionals within the public television community. PBS's 2005 meeting will gather hundreds of PTV professionals from public television stations across the country to discuss the latest technology trends and issues affecting public broadcasting.

There are to be two engineering breakout sessions, plus parallel sessions on traffic and IT.

The Saturday April 16 program, jointly developed with the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) is headlined "Building the Next Generation Master control." The sessions include a look at system architectures and how to enhance the on-air look.

For more than 25 years, the conference has been scheduled immediately prior to the annual NAB Engineering Conference, giving attendees the greatest possible opportunity for professional development. The 2005 PBS Technology Conference will occur at the MGM Grand Hotel and Convention Center, in Las Vegas from April 14-16, 2005.
