Newtec unveils new DVB-H/DVB-T transceiver family

At last month’s CommunicAsia 2007 show, Newtec debuted its Horizon family of transceivers, designed for DVB-H or DVB-T networks distributing content to transmission towers via satellite.

Among the first of the Horizon offerings is the NTC/10100, an integrated DVB-H/DVB-T transceiver designed for installation in each terrestrial transmitter in a broadcast network. The NTC/10100 receives and demodulates DVB-S2 or DVB-S satellite signals, processes and synchronizes the signals between the different transmission towers (for use in SFN networks) and modulates the signal for terrestrial broadcast. Other features include operation in MFN and SFN, multistream operation, an integrated local drop function (allowing for distribution of local content in addition to national channels), an integrated high-stability GPS reference clock and upconversion to VHF or UHF band.
