New matrix switcher handles signals for the NASA center
Systems integrator Karcher Group recently installed a large V-Matrix based matrix switcher, supplied by Altinex, at NASA’s Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The Stennis Space Center is NASA’s primary center for Rocket Propulsion Testing and is home to NASA’s Applied Sciences Directorate.
At the Stennis Space Center, the large matrix switcher routes and processes audio and video signals for more than 200 devices, including video cameras and video monitors, which are used to monitor rocket test facilities and provide remote video surveillance in a variety of situations.
NASA engineers use the OnGOER control software from Simtrol to control the devices, allowing the engineering team to quickly shift the video matrix to any custom preset configuration, thus saving NASA time and money by efficiently utilizing the rocket test facility resources.
