Mastering engineer Doug Sax, winner of a 2004 Technical Grammy Award, has opened a new two-room studio facility in Ojai, CA, 75 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
The new facility is equipped with a customized ATC SCM150A 5.1-channel monitor system made by Acoustic Technology (ATC).
The new facility features unique design concepts in the layout and construction of the main studio. For instance, the console is not located between the listener and the monitors, which Sax asserts improves concentration.
The surround monitoring system, comprised of five ATC SCM150A loudspeakers and an ATC 15-inch subwoofer for the LFE channel, is installed in a partial soffit in a front wall.
