Christian Tremblay, president of Algolith and co-founder of Miranda Technologies, died June 29 from injuries sustained in a road accident. He was 53.
Tremblay graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from l'Université de Sherbrooke in 1978 and pursued his career as a television engineer with Société Radio Canada before joining Central Dynamics Laboratories.
After co-founding Miranda Technologies, Tremblay became the company’s president in 1989. Winner of the Entrepreneur Grand Prix award in 1998, recipient of numerous business awards for Miranda Technologies, and a SMPTE Fellow, Tremblay founded Miranda Technologies' algorithmic group Algolith in 2003.
