Logitek begins shipping Artisan digital console

Logitek has announced its first shipment of the Artisan line of router-based digital audio consoles. The Artisan is a low-cost, full-featured audio console for TV on-air and news applications. Other applications include advanced radio production and small performance group mixing. As with other Logitek audio consoles, Artisan consoles are control surfaces for the Logitek Audio Engine — an X-Y router accommodating both analog and digital audio I/O. Artisan consoles use a series of drop-in modules that permit users to purchase configurations that exactly meet their needs.

Notable features of the Artisan line include multiple frame sizes, on-board IFB functions and 5.1 surround-compatible operation. The design includes two master busses, eight sub-master mix groups, four stereo aux sends and up to 24 mix-minus busses. Frame delay is available on every fader, and a five-function dynamics processor and four-band EQ are available to all faders and busses.

The first Artisan shipment went to WAFF-TV in Huntsville, AL. Additional Artisan systems have been sold to WOIO/WUAB-TV in Cleveland and Youth Radio in Berkeley, CA.
