Holy Land custodian turns to SatLink for backhaul connectivity

The Custody of the Holy Land (Custodia Terrae Sanctae), the official guardian of the Holy Places on behalf of the Catholic Church, selected SatLink Communications as its global transmission provider for all radio and television services.

As the first stage in this process, the organization's Jerusalem film studios have been connected directly via fiber optics to SatLink's teleport. The fiber connectivity between Terra Santa College and SatLink provide the studios at the college with live connectivity to the most sacred places in the Holy Land. The communications services began with the live transmission of Christmas services on Christmas Eve.

Catholic channels from around the world traveling to shoot in the Holy Land will have access to the studio facilities and can use the SatLink connection to distribute their content from Jerusalem. The fiber connection between SatLink's teleport and the Custody of the Holy Land's studios will give all Catholic producers direct access to SatLink's dish-farm of up to 70 antennas.
