Grass Valley unveils SmartVision TV version 2.0

Thomson Grass Valley has unveiled a set of new, advanced features for its SmartVision TV solution IPTV service platform, which provide content providers and end-users a video and multimedia services distribution platform over high-speed networks, such as xDSL, FTTx, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet.

The new SmartVision TV version 2.0 (V2.0) platform features a rich environment for managing systems dedicated to the transport of on-demand and live programs over high-speed networks. These systems include carrier-grade MPEG-4 AVC H.264 infrastructures and those with conditional access systems and that support HD live and VOD content.

The SmartVision V2.0 platform also supports access to video services and interactive capabilities within Thomson's triple play offering (via Cirpack Telephony over an IP platform). The SmartVision TV V2.0 platform also supports multi-terminals home infrastructures (TV set, PC hybrid set-top boxes/DTT/IP, and mobile phones), multiple streams per terminal (standard definition, HD, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC), and format-agnostic content delivery.
