Broadcasters distribute portable TVs to public safety officials

Working with Louisiana and Mississippi broadcasters, the NAB will distribute 1300 battery-operated handheld television sets to public safety officials assisting with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

The 5in analog TVs, purchased by the NAB from St. Louis-based GPX, will be distributed among state police officials and other public safety organizations in Louisiana and Mississippi. Coordinating the distribution effort will be the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters and the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters.
