BBC marks 10th anniversary with ENPS

BBC has announced the 10th anniversary of the use of ENPS for its global broadcasting operation. The installation at the BBC continues to be the largest broadcast newsroom operation in the world, supporting approximately 12,000 users responsible for all of the BBC’s radio and TV news programs. It feeds online operations and helps the World Service broadcast in more than 30 languages.

The BBC selected ENPS in 1996 because it was designed by journalists for journalists. Since then, there has been a revolution in newsroom integration — and constant refinement of the system. The system has grown from 4600 workstations in 1996, to about 7000 workstations with 12,000 users in 2006.
