Balearic TV selects Miranda’s branding system

IB3, the regional TV channel for the Balearic Islands in Spain, is working with Spanish systems integrator Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) and Miranda's dealer, Crosspoint, to upgrade its news facility.

The installation includes a complete Miranda master control switching, branding and monitoring system. The new seven-channel broadcast facility is scheduled to go live by the end of Q2 2005.

This new installation will include three Miranda Presmaster 2 HD/SD master control switching and channel branding panels, and eight fully equipped Imagestore SDI master control and channel branding processors. Each processor provides the entire breadth of mixing and on-air graphics capabilities required for dynamic and engaging presentation, including video and audio mixing, clip playout, dual 3-D DVEs, animation/clock insertion and automated character generation.

In the presentation rooms that manage the playout of the seven channels, IB3 will add Miranda's 32-input Kaleido-K2 multi-image display processors for signal monitoring. The display processor will operate in conjunction with an under-monitor display system developed by Crosspoint, which provides signal names and tallies from production mixers and routing switchers. Capable of handling up to 32 video inputs, the Kaleido-K2 incorporates all the features of a monitor wall into a single high-resolution display.
