WTVT-TV, the FOX O&O station in Tampa, FL, has installed new 24in broadcast LCD monitors from Plura Broadcast in the station’s graphics areas, audio booth and control room to help produce 54 hours of news per week (including nine of hours each weekday) for the Tampa-St. Petersburg market.
The station initially purchased six Plura monitors and has ordered more units for its facility. The sale was coordinated by COMMAND, a professional video integrator based in Clearwater, FL.
Part of the Plura Precision Broadcast LCD series, the Plura PBM-124 monitor offers 1920 x 1200 native resolution with 700:1 contrast and a 178-degree viewing angle. It also features a built-in waveform monitor and 16-channel audio metering display. The multiformat monitor supports HD, SD-SDI and analog video formats, and includes pixel-to-pixel scaling, intelligent connection for calibration and alignment, and adjustable colometry and gamma correction. All Plura Broadcast monitors comply with the EBU-2330-TECH, SMPTE-C, and ITU-R BT.709 standards.
