WTIC-TV in Hartford, CT, has launched 3-D traffic reports as part of its Fox 61 morning show, which airs Monday through Friday.
The station has deployed traffic reporting technology from Beat the Traffic to help create more accurate and compelling traffic reports. The morning show will be the first in the market to feature HD 3-D maps showing real-time traffic flow, speeds, incidents and travel times on major roadways throughout the region.
Animated, color-enhanced maps provide an easy-to-understand picture of the latest traffic speeds and flows, while still allowing the station’s traffic reporter to interject with updates on the trouble areas to help viewers plan their days and avoid delays.
The station also plans to enable viewers and the general public to view the latest traffic conditions and incidents on the Web and their mobile devices throughout the day at its Web site.
