WSMV, an NBC affiliate and Meredith Broadcasting station in Nashville, TN, has embarked on an effort to update its older generation of news play-to-air equipment and streamline its newsroom operations.
At the center of the effort is Sundance Digital’s NewsLink v2.0, which will work with Avid's iNews newsroom computer and non-linear editing system. The two are scheduled to go on-air during the second quarter of 2004.
The installation eases operations and improves the look of the newscast by automating video from Avid's new AirSpeed playout module, along with on-air graphics, directly from the NewsLink's rundown. Sundance and Avid software products compatibility offers a top-to-bottom solution for comprehensive newsroom management and workflow.
