WKEF, WRGT Replace Mark Automation With Sundance

Sinclair Broadcast Group's Dayton, Ohio-based stations WKEF and WGRT have installed a two-channel Sundance Digital FaskBreak Automation system which drives a Pinnacle MediaStream server with one channel for WKEF (NBC) and the other for WRGT (Fox).

FastBreak Automation is a scaleable and frame-accurate controller of video servers and other station peripherals. WKEF/WGRT did the wiring and installed the specific equipment and Sundance configured the system, optimizing it for dual-station operation.

WKEF/WGRT replaced their Mark system with MII tape machines that were prone to breakdowns when airing commercials but the stations now claim that they no longer drop commercials with FastBreak's Automation System.

Sinclair is working with AZCAR to install the system and servers in several of the stations in addition to their Dayton facility.
