VRT News goes wide-screen with Vistek
VRT, the Flemish language Belgian National Radio & Television Broadcaster, has converted its news operation to wide-screen with the help of Vistek.
The conversion started in early January. Since then, all programs related to the news department have been transmitted in a 16:9 Aspect Ratio.
Because a news operation's raw material is only available in a 4:3 aspect ratio, VRT has purchased more than 50 of Vistek's V1647 Modular Aspect Ratio Converters to ensure compatibility.
All Belgian viewers will be able to experience the VRT's 16:9 programming. The company plans to convert all of its programs to 16:9 in the future.
