Vitec Broadcast Group names new CTO

Industry veteran Jerry Gepner has joined the Vitec Broadcast Group as its new Chief Technology Officer. Gepner will work with the group’s other companies, including rental company Bexel, to develop turnkey systems for remote production, such as intercoms and outdoor robotic camera supports. He’ll also help grow the company through a variety of initiatives.

Vitec owns several brands in the broadcast production market, such as Bexel and ASG for equipment rentals, and Anton/Bauer, Clear-Com, OConnor, Rademec, Sachtler, Vinten and Vega for camera and intercom systems.

Prior to joining Vitec, Gepner served as president of National Mobile Television (NMT), where he helped develop HD mobile units for both national and regional productions, and pioneered many new approaches to live television production. He also oversaw the launch of Venue Services Group, an NMT owned systems design and integration company.

Before NMT, he served as an executive vice president for FOX Sports and was co-founder/COO of Sportvision, the technology company that created the NFL's virtual first down line, the NHL's glowing puck, and other computer enhancements for live sports telecasts.
