Vimeo Launches Online ‘Video Sharing’ at 720p
Vimeo, a relatively new online community for video-sharing, said it has created a platform for personal video exchanges that taps into HD content, as well.
Saying that online video sharers and other broadband consumers are clamoring for better quality in their video content, the firm said its new platform allows creators at all levels of expertise to exchange personal videos in native 720p.
Vimeo said the timing of its HD platform introduction inadvertently coincide with price points on some HD camcorders falling below the $1,000 level, as well as the accelerating interest of HD, in general, among buyers of new TV sets.
The company said it recently introduced a redesigned video player to take better advantage of higher quality video.
