Videotek --a manufacturer of HD test and measurement equipment--will provide its Signal Quality Manager (SQM) for four Telemundo owned- and operated-stations in the NBC Southeast hub.

Stations in Houston, Dallas and San Antonio, Texas and Miami, Fla. will receive the SQM system monitors that will distribute content and monitor operations for nine digital stations.

The SQM system features the A/B bypass, which allows NBC to automatically bypass to a network feed on an incoming satellite IRD in case of a system failure.

Shawn Maynard, director of operations, NBC Southeast Hub is confident in the system's ability to keep content on air.

"With this system in place, we can rest assured knowing that our broadcast content will be kept on air, automatically, even during a catastrophic event," Maynard said.
