VFGadgets.com to debut Pro HD/SD camera viewfinder extension

The Pro HD/SD Camera Viewfinder Extension Arm System is designed to work with any broadcast camera viewfinder shoe with a standard 24mm dovetail.

Toronto, Canada-based VFGadgets.com has announced a new fully adjustable viewfinder extension arm system (developed by Precision Camera) that will be demonstrated in its booth (C3950) at NAB2004. With the Pro HD/SD Viewfinder Extension Arm System, users can mount a viewfinder or LCD monitor display in a variety of positions, offering a high degree of flexibility and unique POV shots.

The Pro HD/SD Camera Viewfinder Extension Arm System is designed to work with any broadcast camera viewfinder shoe with a standard 24mm dovetail. The pivoting arm attaches to a viewfinder dovetail, and a sliding mount on the arm fastens the viewfinder or display. To accommodate different types of viewing configurations, three adjustable sliding mounts are available: a mount for an LCD monitor with either a 3/8" or 1/4" threaded screw; a Sony HDVF-C30W HD Color Viewfinder mount; and a B&W viewfinder mount.

The extension arm mount also pivots for the Sony HD color viewfinder. This allows the eyepiece of the color viewfinder to be removed in order to view the LCD display directly. It also includes an aluminum hood to help shield the screen from light reflections.

A new option for the HDVF-C30W Color Viewfinder mount is a 3-inch extension tube for direct viewing of the LCD screen. The sliding mounts are adjustable to any position, and can be used two at a time on the arm (e.g., LCD Monitor mount and a Color Viewfinder mount can be used on the same arm). It can be used with or without an Arri or Panavision leveler arm, making it ideally suited to both studio or field acquisition.

The HD/SD viewfinder arm system has been engineered by Precision Camera and constructed of new super grade aluminum. The arm is small, lightweight (14.1 oz), and extremely durable.
