Vela to showcase HD decoders at IBC 2003

Vela will preview its new CineView HD LE decoder during IBC 2003.

The entry-level CineView HD LE is a PCI-based MPEG-2 HD decoder targeted to the professional video market. Enabling frame-accurate playback of 4:2:0 video in both HD and SD profiles, this new decoder gives operators flexibility in a transition to HDTV. The HD LE supports data rates up to 80 Mbps, depending on stream type and system configuration.

Vela is also showing its CineCast HD, a SCSI-based 4:2:0 decoder for broadcast-quality high definition video. This model is suitable for digital video archiving, post-production, advertising, mapping, electronic cinema, geographic information systems and other video distribution/display applications. The CineCast HD is available as single and dual channel HD models and can be integrated within a 1-RU chassis.

Vela's HD decoder boards support all ATSC HD standards. The Vela CineView HD LE decoder is scheduled for release in early 2004.
