TVB Selects Thomson for DTT Deployment in Hong Kong

Hong Kong-based broadcaster Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), has selected Thomson Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) solutions for its deployment in Hong Kong for the MFN and SFN networks.

TVB's DTT system is a turnkey video headend system which includes compression, multiplexing, and electronic program guide (EPG) management for the transmission of standard-definition (SD) and high-definition (HD) video using both MPEG-2 and H.264 standards. Equipped with ViBE SD and HD encoders, NetProcessor 9030 MPEG video processors for hybrid statistical multiplexing, Jade EPG servers, and XMS management system, TVB will be able to leverage a dynamic service plan management capabilities to seamlessly remove and add channels within their service plan.
