TV Tower Stable After Helicopter Strikes It
By TVTechnology published
A news item on the KCEN TV Web site reported the Channel 25 (KXXV) tower near Moody, Texas is more stable than originally thought. This is the tower a Black Hawk helicopter struck, as reported in last week's RF Report. According to the article, the helicopter hit at least five guy wires on the tower and since the crash, the stability of the tower has been in question. Sand dampeners on the guy wires and lights on the tower were repaired. Tower engineers are scheduled to visit the site this week to continue the damage assessment.
