Turner Taps Sigma Electronics for Court TV Program

Turner Broadcasting System Inc. has ordered Sigma Electronics Inc.'s Arbalest digital audio-to-video synchronization system for use in its live-to-air Court TV broadcasts. Court TV is a Turner Broadcasting System Inc. company.

The East Petersburg, Pa.-manufacturing, design and engineering company said the Arbalest system provides recovery from lip-sync errors created by multiple video and audio transmission paths. It uses a patent-pending processing system that automatically detects and compensates for any delay in a transmission of up to plus or minus five seconds between a video signal and the corresponding audio.

"We welcome Court TV as it joins the ranks of networks using the Arbalest synchronization system for synchronizing their live broadcasts," said Bill Swilley, president of Sigma Electronics. "The Arbalest solution enables them to verify that pictures and sound captured during live broadcasts reach their studios in perfect synchronization."
