Trinity Church Expands Production Facility with Omneon Gear

The Trinity Church in New York City is expanding its television production facility with the Omneon Spectrum media server system.

The facility will use Final Cut Pro, Avid Symphony and DV Xpress systems for its production area, control rooms and edit suites.

"We felt it was important to create additional edit facilities and establishing Webcasting, and the Omneon Spectrum media server, with its advanced architecture, ties all of our new and existing equipment together," said Bert Medley, director of Trinity Church Television and New Media, which is connected to the Trinity Church via a fiber network.

The server will be the central location for media storage and it will also allow users to record and play back digital content.

For Webcasting, four Sony DXC990 cameras are placed in the nave of the church. Those cameras as well as the Sony BVP-E10 digital cameras in the production studio send data to the Omneon server.

Rapid file transfers between Avid editing systems and the server can be performed using an Omneon TransferTool AO.
