Transit TV Onboard With Anystream Agility

Transit Television Network (Transit TV), a provider of video entertainment, information and advertising to mass transit riders, has installed the Anystream Agility, to automate media production.

Installed last summer, the Agility solution allows TransitTV tofree up as many as 80 personnel-hours a week, enabling employees to spend more time on content creation and development.

Transit TV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Torstar Corp. in Toronto, assembles video clips ranging in length from 30 seconds to five minutes into two one-hour blocks of programming. The programs are broadcast through its network of 8,750 television screens on nearly 4,000 transit vehicles during the morning and evening commutes to viewers on the Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Orlando, Fla., mass transit systems.

"Agility paid for itself in a matter months by freeing us to work on more creative projects," said Jeff Hartlieb, director of content and production for Transit TV. "Our content comes from a wide variety of partners including local news stations, advertisers and others. Assembling it into one hour of programming was previously a challenge, as every partner delivered their video in different formats. By automating the process of converting all this content into one broadcast-quality format, Agility has saved us huge amounts of time."

Anystream in Sterling, Va. is a provider of multiplatform publishing solutions to the media industry.
