Tower registration concerns FCC
By TVTechnology published
To play it safe, post the registration number at several points along a perimeter fence or at both the gate to the site and adjacent to the base of the tower.
Tower registration number posting should take place no later than the time at which lighting of the structure is first required, according to FCC rules.
The FCC suggests that if the site is conspicuous enough to post “No Trespassing” signs or the owner’s name and logo, that those are also appropriate places to post the registration number. To play it safe, post the registration number at several points along a perimeter fence or at both the gate to the site and adjacent to the base of the tower.
You are required to identify the number as the “FCC Registration Number." The FCC has taken a no-tolerance policy with respect to tower registration because of its importance for air safety.
