Télé-Québec Upgrades Monitoring Capabilities

Télé-Québec recently installed a Miranda Kaleido-X multi-image display system as part of an upgrade to its Montréal facilities.

The Kaleido-X replaces Télé-Québec's previous monitor wall, which consisted of 30 separate CRT screens. The new display system allows any of the room's signals to be displayed across four LCD screens.

The Télé-Québec Montréal facility is being upgraded in stages to achieve digital, HD and 5.1 audio capabilities. Miranda Densité and Imaging signal-conversion products were previously installed as part of the master control room refurbishment, along with another Kaleido-X system. A third Kaleido-X was also provided for a further production studio.

By year-end, Télé-Québec expects its systems to be up to date for the launch of programming in HD.
