TBS chooses Videotek for HD test and measurement

Videotek’s VTM-450E HD/SD device monitors all HD transmissions, as well as Dolby Digital and Dolby E audio streams, at TBS, in Atlanta.

Videotek, the test and measurement division of Leitch Technology, has announced that its VTM-450E HD/SD multi-format on-screen monitor has been installed throughout Turner Broadcasting System’s new high-definition facilities in Atlanta as the measurement reference for HD quality assurance (QA).

The VTM-450E HD/SD monitor, which provides manual and automated testing of HD and SD serial digital video signals, was chosen as the standard for all of Turner’s QA suites and transmission monitoring positions.

The monitor offers waveform, vector, eye pattern, picture, gamut, analog/digital relative timing, audio, metadata, and alarm settings and status displays with automatic features that immediately notify operators of signal quality errors. The logging capabilities maintain all measurement information gathered from a source or project, for future evaluation.
