TBS Adds Pro-Bel’s Morpheus Automation

TBS, the Turner Broadcasting System comedy channel, is now being aired with Pro-Bel’s Morpheus automation system.

TBS was switched to Morpheus in April and joins 12 other Turner channels in Atlanta being played out by the Pro-Bel system.

“We have a strong relationship with Turner,” said Graham Pitman, Pro-Bel Group CEO. “Moving these networks across to Morpheus is a great achievement for all involved and a vote of confidence for our technology strategy. We enormously value our association with Turner and look forward to continuing this work with them.”

One of the advantages of the Morpheus system is that it can work in a seamless manner with Omneon’s audio track tagging. This allows content to be archived with multiple audio tracks (foreign language versions) associated with the video content. If play-out of a different language version is desired, the Morpheus system selects the active track, thus eliminating external audio switching requirements.

In addition to the Atlanta installation, Turner is using Morpheus systems in its Buenos Aires and London play-out facilities.
