To accommodate a need for new optical equipment, Standard Communications partnered with Lightwave Solutions to provide VOD, VoIP and high-speed Internet access to subscribers. Incorporating hybrid optical-RF linearization technology from San Diego, Calif-based Lightwave, the Standard Communications Lumin Series reduces costs for cable operators to offer video and voice broadband services.
The series consists of the Lumin DLT high-power 1310 nm optical transmitter, the Lumin DDR dual-path receiver, the Lumin forward-path receiver and the Lumin optical distribution chassis. The devices feature a hot-swappable plug-and-play design and can hold up to 15 modules in a 3 RU chassis.
