SSL Supplies C300HD Studio System to Mexican Film Facility

Astro Studios, a new feature film facility, in Mexico City has selected a Solid State Logic (SSL) 512-channel C300 Master Studio System for soundtrack mixing.

Jamie Baksht, a partner in Astro Studios, specified the two-operator, 48-fader console, which is the largest C300 supplied to date.

"The productions we are working on have been getting larger, so we needed something that can help us accommodate increasing requirements", said Baksht. "This C300 will have a lot of inputs, the DAW control is also very important, and the C300 HD sounds wonderful. This is a completely new system from SSL, and when SSL has a new system, I know it's going to be very, very good".

Baksht was recently nominated for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award for his work on "Pan's Labyrinth", Guillermo del Toro's gothic fairy tale which is set in Franco's Spain.

Astro Studios is scheduled to open in December.
